backing up my nokia e75 before reset?

backing up my nokia e75 before reset?

I have a nokia E75. I believe the symbian s60 in commission system, if that’s relevant.

Recently i’ve been have a lot of problems with the phone. It would freeze up quite often and removing hte battery did help. WHen i turned the phone back on, it would just go back to being frozen. (I reckon it was a conundrum with the alarms conflicting with the start up software) Finally, after 5 hours of stress, I’ve got it working again temporarily. I hope to do a factory reset.

questions:
1. will a soft rest be fine? or a hard reset? difference?
2. i need to back up my contacts, which i’ve place into my sim card. is that safe?
3. is there anything I can do to backup my messages and calender?

1. Do a hard reset, completely wipes handset back to scratch and will run a lot cleaner.
To hard reset, dial *#7370# and when prompted for password type 12345

2. Your SIM is a safe way to back up contacts.

3. Use Nokia PC Suite and do a complete backup. This will save ALL data on the handset. After the reset, do a simply restore and this will bring all the data back.

Play Snake! Now!
nokia back up question

Here’s a screenshot of a complete reworking of the classic Snake game that used to flourish on ancient Nokia mobile phones. I used to be strangely besotted with this game, back in the day, so I chose to write my own version, to pay homage to this sick obsession. It’s written decently in Java(TM) by Swing and the Java Foundation Classes, in case you’re attracted.

Okay, here’s the excellent news…

If you’ve got Java(TM) 1.5 or above installed on your system (that includes you, Mac OS X Tiger users), then feel free to give it a whirl RIGHT NOW, via the magic of Java(TM) Web Start!!!

It’s honestly playable at this point, although pretty basic, there’s still plenty of work to be done. I’d like to add some signal effects, a few different levels of play, some method of saving scores remotely (by RMI) and possibly even an additional A.I. Snake to really spice up the action, if I’m feeling up to it!

Anyway, I go off on a tangent…

Once the game’s loaded, hit the spacebar, or click a mouse button to get things moving. Then it’s just a question of moving the snake by the pointer keys (or the mouse; right-click to turn clockwise, left-click to turn anti-clockwise), avoid hitting the walls or another part of the snake, and it’s all-you-can-eat as far as the food (the small conservational square) goes.

Click here to play, in case it’s not glaringly obvious.

Delight post comments/suggestions/bugs below. Thanks!

so on my previous question.. the guy answered that the one causing my phone’s lags is the lack of software upgrade. and i can’t do an upgrade til jan 5. produce i’m here in the province. my stuff are back in the city.
now as i turn my phone on.. the hands touching logo thing didn’t appear. the nokia logo kept blinking in anticipation of the home screen appeared. i tried turning it off and back on and same thing happens. what do i do? does this still has something to do with the software?

Answer by andreas m
Yes its certainly the software. The only thing you can do its wait. I know that wasn’t helpful but there is no other way.
You can try updating applications, it might fix the problem. Go to menu–>applications—> App.bring up to date
when the phone find the applications that need updates click options and then “start bring up to date”
Excellent luck
