Nokia E50, Olympuse500 or Canon Rebel: Which is the best slr digital camera for a new photographer?

My wife is a begining photographer. She’s outgrown her ancient Olympus Camedia. Which will serve her the best taking picts of group activities and landscapes.

From the ones you listed, without doubt the Canon Rebel. Personally I prefer the Nikon D70s to the Rebel though.
If you have some more money, go for the Nikon D200 though. It’s a beaut, but expensive for someone just starting out.

Go with the Nikon D70s. You can’t go incorrect. Just remember to get a couple of lenses as well.

If your wife is looking to do this as a leisure activity, I would recommend the Canon Rebel. It is the best 8 mega pixel digital SLR under $ 1,000 out there. Now if she is seriously thinking of getting into photography, I would recommend the Nikon D200. This is the camera I have. There are so many things that you can do with it, but like Jedi said it does get expensive. I paid $ 1,600 for the body only, after purchasing 2 lens a new tripod, a 6GB compact sparkle, and some other small things, I spent around $ 2,500…

i am confused to buy mobile bitween nokia n70 and nokia E50.i used nokia e50 it was awsome specialy its betry life and its quick office capibility.and nokia e50 has gorgeous notification set alight.so plz help me to get ride of this..is any body can tell mobiles which have notification set alight.

I reckon you should go with a nokia express music phone. This is what I have and I like it!! It has the best digital camera I have ever seen on a phone. 3.2 mega pixels really. The signal system is incredible. So loud and so clear everyone is jealous of this feature of my phone. I have also dropped it a millon times and it has not yet broken or even come close to breaking. Did i mention i dropped it down three flights of concrete stairs? Not a scratch on it. I also have accidentally soaked it in water and it was fine. It’s the best phone I’ve ever had and I suggest you check it out you will not be dissapointed. Also, it has alot of storage space and room. I have about 40 full length songs on there. When you take a video it also plays back the signal so be careful what you say lol. but seriously check this phone out. Comes in many differnt colors too.
