New Desktop PC
samsung monitors drivers

Connected the new desktop to my 42" plasma TV via HDMI to try and after which continue with the installation of Windows 7. After the usual process of updating and installing the necessary drivers, the first thing I did was install Left 4 Dead 2 and played for a couple of hours on the TV. It was really cool to play games on a big screen but there was some issues as well – my wireless keyboard and mouse was spoilt so I have to use a wired set, which caused me to stretch my arms to play due to the short cable lenght. Also I have to sit on the floor to play as the keyboard & mouse was on my coffee table and this hurts my bums! Wahahaha!

Think next up, I will consider to buy

Wired or Wireless keyboard/mouse ( I will be using the desktop in study room)
24" LCD monitor (now using a 17" Samsung LCD)
A couple of Coolermaster 120mm fans (to lower temperature when loading the CPU/GPU)

Maybe I will do some overclocking to benchmark too! But most importantly, the desktop is for me to do some work and of course, play some games when I am free! :)

This monitor is giving me a headache..
I installed yesterday the Windows 7 beta version and everything worked perfect.
Today all of a sudden the screen went black. Restarting didn’t help.
I took all the cords out, replugged, and it worked. Few hours later, the same thing.

I restarted this time, the picture is back..

Why is this happening?

P.s. I installed the new Samsung drivers via Windows update. And the graphics drivers also.

Going Black? As in the power goes off and no power light?

If so, then the internal power supply has cold solder joints breaking the connection once the monitor has warmed up. It would need to be repaired. Most of the time resoldering the cracked solder joints solves the problem. This is a high voltage item that should be repaired by a qualified technician only.

If blacked out and the power appears good, most likely still a driver issue. If you are sure the drivers are okay, the last option would be the video port on the PC is failing. It does not happen often and would be the last place to check. Easy way to find out, move the monitor to a known good computer and see if it works or not. If it works, then the problem is in the computer. If not, then the monitor.

It may be because you are unable to install the VGA Driver properly, or try to replug you VGA Card again. It will fix you problem.
