Switching from Verizon DSL to Comcast Ultra 30Mb, what happens to my Verizon email?

My verizon/yahoo email is @verizon.net If I switch from Verizon to Comcast, is there anyway to keep my verizon email ?

Transfer the account info from the old one (if it has not been closed) to the new one…I will give you two options…One is Yahoo to Yahoo…the other is other types to yahoo..

Here's how:

1. Click Options in the upper-right corner of your Mail page,then MAIL OPTIONS…you will be in the GENERAL mode…then click on CONTACTS.(left side of the screen)..once in click on TRANSFER CONTACTS TO YAHOO…
2. You will be prompted to re-enter your password as a security measure.
3. Next is a permissions page which goes over legal information. Click I Agree. If you'd rather not continue, click I Do Not Agree.
4. Verify that you've read the Terms of Service by clicking in the check-box. Click Start Transfer.
5. Enter the "old" email sign-in name for the account you're transferring from, and in the pull-down menu, select the webmail domain it's from.
* Choose from:
Hotmail, AOL, Gmail, Comcast, Yahoo!, Cox, Earthlink, MSN, Netzero, Juno, CS, Optonline, and Worldnet.att.net
6. Enter the email account's password. Click Next.
7. Please wait a moment while we verify this information. If we run into a problem, we'll ask that you please re-enter the username, provider and password info.
8. Now, leave a check in the check-boxes beside the information you'd like to transfer to your Yahoo! account. You can transfer Email, Address Book info, and usually, your Calendar info. Please note some webmail programs don't feature calendars.
* Would you like to send a note to all these contacts announcing your new email address? No problem! Leave a check in the box beside "Send a note…" And if you want to write the note yourself, just click "Click here to personalize…". Click Next when you're done.
* Click Next to transfer the information to your new Yahoo! account.
* The "Finished" page will confirm the transfer and offers you a quick route back to your Yahoo! Mail account: Take Me To Yahoo! Mail.

Please note that it may take as long as 24 hours to complete the transfer. When it's done, you'll get a confirmation email in your Yahoo! Inbox.

If you have another webmail account whose info you'd like to transfer, no problem! Import from as many of the supported providers as you want.

For desktop email

Interested in transferring Address Book information from your desktop application (ie, Outlook or Palm)? If so, follow these steps:

1. In the upper-right corner of your Mail page, click Options and select Mail Options.
2. On the left side of the page that opens, click Contacts Options.
3. On the right of this page, click Import/Export to get started.

If you use Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP or NT, you can transfer your address book from one Yahoo! account to another using the Import/Export feature.

First, export your address book as a Comma Separated Value (.CSV) file:

1. Open your Yahoo! Contacts, click “Tools”, and then select “Export” from the menu.
2. Click the “Export Now” button next to the phrase “Yahoo! CSV:.”
3. When prompted, specify a convenient location and name for your file in the “Save As” window.

Your address book data is now saved as a standard .CSV file.

Do you want to make any changes to it? You can open this file in programs like Microsoft Excel to edit the information – just don’t change the field names in the first row. And if you do this, remember to save the revised file as a .CSV file, not a .XLS (Excel) file. Your data must be saved as a .CSV file to be re-imported to another account.

Now, import your info into a different Yahoo! account:

1. Sign out of the first account.
2. Sign into the other Yahoo! account.
3. Open your Yahoo! Contacts, click “Tools”, and then select “Import” from the menu.
4. Select “Yahoo!(.CSV file)” from the pull-down menu.
5. Click “Browse” to locate the .CSV file you just revised or exported.
6. Click “Import Now.”

If you’re switching from Verizon to Comcast, your Verizon email is automatically discontinued. Think about it. That’s your internet provider. If you don’t have that provider, you no longer have the email given to you by that provider.

While the new RAZR supports synching from Address Book, I can’t browse the file system like I could with the previous one.

Thankfully, at least emailing works…

I’m counting the days until I can dump Verizon. Hate them.

I cant figure out why I cant add my email to the ipod touch. Ive taken it to the store and they did add verizon to mine BUT now Im trying to set up my fathers. If anyone out there that can give me some advise please HELP ME!!!!!

Take yours. Go to Settings, Email and pick your account. You will see the correct settings. Now take your fathers. Go to Settings, Email, Add Account. Enter the exact same information of course substituting your fathers id and password. Simple as that.
