Does anyone know how to get audio out of a Samsung T240 monitor?

Does anyone know how to get audio out of a Samsung T240 monitor?

It has a front audio out port. When I connect headphones to it, it’s not charitable any signal. Am I supposed to bed in any drivers or what?

Answer by Chris
Well really no drivers are needed but if your connecting your PC to your monitor by an HDMI cable then the audio should work fine through the headphones.

connecting through the hdmi port will not place signal to your monitor unless the graphics card has the ability to send the signal
you need to find the audio input on the monitor and connect by a doubled finished audio jack to your audio out on the pc

I want to build on Chris’ answer:

You’re doubtless just plugged into the monitor via VGA cable. This kind of cable does not carry any audio signals.

HDMI carries both audio & video, so this would be the way to go if you wanted to get audio out of your monitor. Otherwise, most computers have 1/8″ outputs on them (headphone jack).

Excellent Luck!

Well one way to do it is go to the hardware devices website and download the drivers manually. But if you are bone idle like me, you can get driver bring up to date software which will automatically scan and bring up to date ALL drivers in minutes. This is the program I use:

The monitor will hook up to a desktop fine and the laptop will work with other displays but they dont work together, i tried getting the drivers, didnt seem to work. My laptop finds the monitor but, but the monitor wont find the laptop, it wont let me switch inputs to VGA(which is how they are connected.

This setup works and here’s the proof! What I did to make it work: At first I used fit-PC2 with my primary monitor over HDMI, the GMA500 drivers were installed and working, I downloaded the U70 driver from the Samsung site, here: org.downloadcenter.samsung.com I ran the setup and went though the installation. Then I plugged in my U70 (I’m not by the 2-USB cable that comes with it since it doesn’t really seem to matter, I don’t reckon that makes a difference anyway) I went it to the Show Properties of Windows, No1 Is Default Monitor on GMA500, No2 Is Samsung UbiSync Monitor (USB…) First I select the Samsung Ubisync, I check both checkboxes, (First Extend my Windows desktop, then Use this device as the primary monitor gets enabled so I checked that) then I went to Default Monitor and unchecked the checked box (Extend…). Press OK Wait for a few seconds and it’s all ok Removed the HDMI cable (My primary monitor was showing some weird shape and stuff). I’ve restarted fit-PC2 many times with the HDMI cable and it works fantastic on the U70. Only two things I’ve noticed are the renowned conundrum with the resolution changing to the buck for the Primary Monitor (I don’t care about this since I use the U70, it’ll doubtless get flat at some stage anyway) and the other is as you may notice in the video I use the Ancient Windows theme and it some times kicks back to the XP theme. (Not a conundrum If you use that, and may not even happen to others.) Cheers
