How to set up Samsung SyncMaster 932 BW Plus?

How to set up Samsung SyncMaster 932 BW Plus?

Help! I bought a used 19″ Samsung SyncMaster 932 BW Plus but it didn’t come with the monitor driver or setup guide. I can’t get it to “fit” fully on the screen, the letters look slightly blurry. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Most newer monitors are plug n play and don’t need drivers. The software for the video card usually can detect what monitor you have. Now it could be your video card it too ancient and can’t work with the new monitor.

19″ non wide screen is set to 1280 x 1024
19″ wide screen is set to 1440 x 900 (this varies)

Turn on clear type or download the tool if your by Windows OS. If you have a MAC same rules should apply for text sharpness. If the text is still blurry then the video card needs to be updated or replace.

Try 1024 x 768 = 15 to 17″
800 x 600 or 640 x 480 is not recommend.

See what your video card can handle and monitor. Don’t exceed the max resolution of the Monitor with your video card as it might not be able to handle and thus produce the video card to go on the blink. Try the settings above and see how it goes. No better upgrade the video card to one that can handle the max resolution of you new Monitor.

I don’t reckon my bedroom (any that I’ve had) has ever been this clean in my life. Go me.

Yeah, there’s some tearing in the computer chair. Missed that in stitching. Will have to fix it.

—-My pc info——
Motherboard – asus m3n78-em with onboard GeForce 8300 chipset.
Graphics card – NVIDIA 9800 GT 512 mb DDR3 Graphics card
RAM – 4GB DDR2
OS – Windows 7 ultimate
Monitor – Samsung PX2370 HD (Connected via HDMI cable) cable cost – Rs.500

NOTE : My motherboard supports only DDR2 ram but still i have ddr3 supported graphics card.

Conundrum

I have had this pc for morethan 1 year. I had sevaral crashes when playing games but if i reboot the pc it works. I had an ancient Samsung VGA Monitor with 120 hertz stereoscopic capability.

I got a new Samsung PX2370 HD yesterday and its flickering when watching HD Movies or when playing latest games. These worked impeccably fine with my very ancient monitor. I have a doubt in my Graphics card and that use to crash games in the past. I have a excellent SMPS Power source also.

Things i have done : I have reinstalled my os., reinstalled my graphics drivers and also my monitor drivers. Still it flickers. If i am by my pc naturally without any graphics applications it works fine. So i believe it has something to do with the monitor or the Graphics card.

The monitor costed me a fortune so i despise to say it might be terrible. I hope its not a monitor issue.

I also wanted to know if it makes a difference when i connect the monitor via HDMI or DVI to see if the flickering stops. Will try that now but need some help on figuring out the conundrum delight.
