does the nokia n900 have the same offer that nokia gives for the nokia x6 where it has free turn by turn navigation using ovi maps?

Not yet. BUT it comes pre-installed with Ovi Maps 1.0 and support for Ovi Maps 3.03 is “coming” this is because the N900 runs Maemo 5 instead of Symbian OS. Ovi Maps should question you to automatically update when 3.03 is available for your device. Until then just hang tough or get google maps.
