HP Vs. LG computer monitors?

Hey everyone,
i need your help and advise. i’m plotting to get a new monitor
i liked the lg and hp’s monitors, because they have excellent resolution and etc.
these two are my picks:

The Hp has a glossy end to the screen (not the edges), but the lg doesn’t it’s matte . Is there a difference between the gloss and matte, does the gloss act like a computer anti-glare filter?? or is it just for the appearance?

which do you recommend? LG or HP

My Dad’s LG monitor is about 2 years ancient. No signal or any light is coming on, on the monitor. Whenever I plug the power outlet back in it just makes like a dying scream untill I disconnect the power outlet. The monitor had stopped working on the day that it had reached 95 degrees(70-80 avg) here. Is it Broken? Or should I give it a couple of days to try it again?

Broken, probably.

The scream you hear is likely the sound of an overworking voltage regulator, and coming up will probably not do anything. You can try, but the chances are slim.

I bought 2 of these monitors 18 months ago. They both developed similar faults within a week. The first one turns off and on every 30 seconds or so. The second one refuses to come out of power save mode. Seraching the internet shows lots of public having the same conundrum with the same monitor. LG customer services refuse to fix these. Be warned, their customer service stinks
