Why don't I get a Vista install disk with Toshiba laptops?

We frequently hold Toshiba laptops for our company. All of them come with Vista Business licenses. We didn’t have a conundrum till now since we formatted them and installed XP on each one to keep up with company standards. Now that we are plotting on upgrading, it seems odd that non of them built-in a vista CD but instead came along with a Windows XP professional disk. Can i download the OS from someplace since i already have the licenses?

PCs today, do not come with restore disks. One reason life that they are easily misplaced in the time of need. Most PCs now have a partition on the hard drive with the recovery data. You can usually access this data via an ALT + Fn key combination on start up. Normally, this setup does require you to enter a product key. If needed you should have a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) mark on the bottom of your mainframe. If you deleted the hard drive partition with the recovery image you will have to contact the manufacturer.

Please note that before you restore your system that you should back up your data and that your applications will have to be reinstalled.

That is a small odd since Toshiba PCs are one of the few manufacturers who still really supply restore CDs with their new laptops instead of using a restore partition. If they did some with the Vista Business license I’m not sure you would download it for free but you can order the restore CDs directly from Toshiba and they will ship them directly to you (this is usually $ 25-$ 35). If you have a bunch of laptops that are the same model you may be able to use one disk for all the PCs.

As already said on this bulletin please make sure to backup any necessary data!

Hope it works out.

Most all laptops are prone to overheating. Laptops were not meant for intense gaming. They run hot even when browsing the net.

Depends on the hardware and on the load. If you are before a live audience the sims and making it work like hell it is normal that it gets some heat. Your reaction to heat (getting a colling pad) is fantastic.
