what t-moble phone should i get? or unlocked?
Ok so i have such a delima here. i have the sony ericsson xperia x1 and i chose to restore it so now i want a new tmobile phone! i have the G1 and Memoir(selling memoir though). I was looking at the Nokia 5610 xpressmusic ( http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/Nokia-5610-XpressMusic-phone-p_2363.html ) or maybe the Samsung gravity ( http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/Samsung-Gravity-phone-p_3209.html ) or maybe even the RAZR2 but i can’t find it on tmobile website so idk if i can still get it. ( http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/Motorola-RAZR2-V8-phone-p_2165.html )
so which should i get?!?

so whats incorrect with the g1? that is what im using right now to read and answer this. i like the g1 !!! like hoe the appz are free too

I would stick with the G1, but if you have to choose between the others go with the gravity for texting; the buttons just feel right. It’s not that “high tech”, though (meaning you should wait for an “upcoming phone”).

About to buy the Sony Ericsson X1, and I want to get the black one directly from sony europe (the record compression is also better on the european version) . My intent is to simply stick my rogers SIM card into the unlocked phone and go on my preexisting voice and data plot.
Are there any hardware conflicts I should be aware of? I heard a rumor that european phones will not operate on north american 3g. I know it may just be a rumor, but Id like to be certain if I’m to shell out over 800 CAD on a cell phone
Thanks.

Well considering Canada works on GSM-850 and GSM-1900 frequencies compared to most of Europe’s companies that operate on GSM-900 and GSM-1800 you always want to make sure the phone will pick up on persons frequencies. But Im pretty sure the X1 does multiple frequencies so you should be fine.

the rumor that u heard that european 3G mobile phones will not work in the usa is right but also they will not work in canadian 3G networks. because the usa and canada use the same frequencies in case u didnt know at&t from the usa is rogers in canada there really the same company only that they changed name. i know this for a fact because i sell mobile phones in london i work for t-mobile. over here in london if u want an sony ericcson xperia all u have to do is sign a 2 year contract and is free. but i see that in canada that is not the case.. but if u look st the link i posted below if u look the sony x1 uses the 2100 mhz band for 3G which is not supported in canada only in europe. so if u had one unlocked u would only get crappy edge speeds with rogers. and u will not be able to use all the excellent features like record calling… so its up to u if u still want one…
