The main difference between the two is the list has a better optical zoom, for that reason it gets my vote.

Choosing between the two, I would say the list.
But if you want fantastic battery power (with AA bateries), the Nikon L14 is pretty excellent.

Battery life:
Approx. 1000 shots with lithium, 440 shots with alkaline or 520 shots with EN-MH1 batteries (based on CIPA standard)

the list one.. basing on the optical zoom..

and the fact that it has AA batteries makes it simpler in case of emergency.. get the rechargeable ones.. or if not use the duracell batteries specialized for digi cams.. they last long..

i guess list brands are a bit more tested for cameras.. samsung’s are a so so for me..

The List one is far superior, everyone aggres.
the features are much better.
It looks rea excellent.
And most importantley it will suit you.

Between the two I would go with the List A560, my ex likes the results from it. For a bit more (around $ 150-) I suggest the List A570 IS.
It has image stabilizer and aperture/shutter priority, two aides in taking a photo.
PS $ 127- is a excellent price for the List A560.

Samsung digital camera

It ticks all my boxes and it’s pink, but I just don’t know why its selling at £99! Here is a link, please check it out.

If you cant, please note its a Samsung S1050 10MP Digital Camera.- in pink.

Argos says it hasnt been reduced, so even if it seems the specs are incredible, its only on sale for £99!

Ive compared it to more expensive ones and the specs are better than some of them or the same.

Am I missing something?

Thanks, may maybe you please tell me if Advanced Shake Reduction is worth getting, just seen that the silver version of this come with ASR and 30MB more memory, but I like pink, but they both cost the same!

It’s probably life discontinued by Samsung. It ticks all the right boxes as far as specifications are concerned so if you can stand the colour (bleugh!) get one.

Samsung is not very well established in camera market, so it is better to buy only persons models which are reviewed by experts. A excellent model by Samsung is Samsung S85 in this price range.

Buying just because it has high megapixel is not a excellent criteria. You should buy on the basis of image quality rank. I am not sure about image rank of S1050, but the rank of S85 is (8/10).

Additional excellent camera to buy in this price range with excellent image rank(8/10) or (9/10) are

Fujifilm F40fd.
Fujifilm S5700
Nikon P4
Olyumpus FE-250

Samsung isn’t a motivating force camera manufacturer. I had an older (much older) Samsung at my lab that we used as a passport camera. Very un-impressed. Generally, in digicams, you get what you pay for. This camera is probably fantastic for pleased snapping, which is all that most girls who want a pink camera are looking for, so it may suit your needs perfectly. If it’s in your budget and has the features you want, I say go for it. Question about their restore policy just in case.
