My nokia 5233 is not being detected by any nokia software .?

i can transfer stuff using windows explorer but nor does ovi suite,pc suite or software updater detect the mobile. It can be detected by the comp but not the softwares. I re-installed all the latest versions but still no use. plz help !!!!

Try changing the detecting mode. Maybe is set to “mass storage”, and the computer detects your phone as an usb stick. Change it to “Ovi Suite / Nokia PC Suite”. This can be made by entering settings menu, connectivity. Hope it helps.

I live in the UK, network provider is 3. I have seen that version 50 is out for the nokia 5800, yet when I try to download it, it says the latest version is v40. I have tried through the phone by typing in *#000# without success. I have also tried throught nokia ovi suite and nokia software updater. Still no luck. Also typed my number into that nokia website where it says latest firmware availablt for me is v40. How can I update my phone’s firmware?
