Q&A: Blackberry curve 8900 or nokia e71?
by mmeiser2
I’m thinking whether to get a bb 8900 or a nokia e71. These are the questions I’ve come up with to clarify the competition at least to for myself:
- Which phone will the features be more usable here in the Philippines?
- Which phone is simpler to type with? Is it right that E71 can only be used with 1-hand texting? What if I want to use both of my hands? Is it impossible to do so?
- I’m already convinced that E71 has a very strong build quality, but I’d like to question… can’t the Curve match up to it somehow? Is the back cover really annoying?
- Can I use Facebook and Twitter on Nokia E71?
- Is the User Interface of E71 that dull? I mean, can’t it match up a small to the UI of the Curve? (My last phone was motorola, I just want to see an upgrade with the user interface.)
**Really, at this point, I’m looking at the Nokia E71 because of the price. I’m reduction up, and I reckon the price of Nokia E71 is simpler to save up for.
I want to know if the Nokia E71 would at least be enough for the “upgrade” that I’m looking for right now. I’m really bored with my motorola. I’m sort of visual, so I want something that looks more colorful and fun. At least compared to my motorola. Lol.
Thanks in advance!

1. Both are reasonably usable in PH.
2. The BB is simpler but you can 2-hand type on the E71 simpler then public say.
3. The Curve is strong-built but has small things that break easily.
4. You have to find alternative methods of getting Twitter and FB but their are tutorials online, just search on google.
5. The interface seems dull to the color of the BB or iPhone but compared to most motorola’s the interface is better atleast 10x.
6. I reckon the Nokia E71 is an incredible substitute for the Curve.. go for it.

I would recommend Nokia E63 instead of E71. It’s much cheaper and better than the E71. But no front camera and GPS like E71 (do you really need persons?). And the E71 casing is made of steel while the E63 is of plastic. Keypad layout in E63 is better than E71.

‘Combustible Dust’ Plant Explosion May Cost Apple 500,000 iPads
It looks like dust—that’s right, dust—was responsible for a deadly explosion at a Chinese factory that supplies Apple iPads. Not just any dust, say Chinese investigators, but something called “combustible dust.” Yep, I had to look that one up, too. [...]
