I have dual monitors and one won't start on boot. What could this be?
by memoreks
I have had dual Samsung monitors for three years. Every once and awhile, one will not come on at boot or one will be scrambled looking. I got used to this quirk. Now for the past few days one monitor is not coing on all. I have tried to restart, hoping whatever it is would reset but nothing happens. Any clue as to what the trick is?

Sounds like the lead or monitor may be faulty.Check your graphics card settings also. My system only boots to one monitor which is the primary monitor then boots onto the secondary one when the OS has kicked in.

My new monitor
A couple years ago I bought a samsung monitor, and it didnt work out of the box. I returned it for a new samsung monitor, and two years later there are already about 100 dead pixels on it. Im pissed. Dont buy samsung products.
Marine, you are an idiot. Lemons/defects happen every now and then. So I just swapped it for a new one. Little did I know id get two fkn lemons in a row. Thats poor quality. I gave them a second chance thinking “it happens”. Never will I buy a samsung product again.
Glad some of you guys had luck with them though. However ill think twice before shelling out 500 dollars for a samsung monitor in the future.

This is just your opinion. I got a 19 inch Samsung monitor SyncMaster 730b bought it from Best Buy for christmas. that was Xmas 05.. I still have it, and it works wonderfully. I use it as my second monitor for my extended desktop. The refresh time is great.. and I love it. So maybe its just where you bought it..

I have a Samsung Syncmaster 710v, i’ve had it now for 4 years and it’s still good, no dead Pixels at all.
I think you just got a Lemon, it happens. Unfortunately.

… i hear plenty of people recommend samsung monitors ( several computer forums like 3dgameman.com)
I’m not sure why you would buy the same brand after you had problems before…
most people would have good sense to buy a different brand…

A hotly anticipated smartphone with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a “Super” 4.3-inch screen, and a manufacturer-skinned version of Android 2.3 — we must be talking about the Samsung Galaxy S II , right? Not on this occasion, squire. Today we’re taking a gander at HTC’s Sensation , a handset that’s just begun shipping in Europe under a short-term Vodafone exclusive and which should be making its …
