I couldn’t get a straight answer on this. Hopefully maybe someone in Yahoo can break it down lol.
Ok, I was trying to figure out what syncing my contacts with iTunes would do, and if I even need it. Right now, i use Google contacts to sync my contacts with my iPhone. So, whenever I make a change with my contacts on my phone, Google reflects that change and vice versa. If sync my contacts with iTunes what will that do? Will that just add an extra place where my contacts are stored, sort of like a backup? Will iTunes get in the way of my phone syncing with Google Contacts? Should I even sync my contacts with iTunes or leave it alone?

Not syncing means you would have to maintain two sets of contacts. When adding a contact to your phone, it would only exist in your phone, and when adding a contact to your Google contacts, it would only exist in your Google contacts. You would have to add new contacts to both manually. And the worst scenario is, if your phone were to die or get lost you would lose any contacts that had not been added to your Google contacts. By syncing them, they should always be identical, and if you lost your phone you could replace the phone, re-sync, and your back in business.
