yes you can use AT&T sim card in it
but
is your phone unlocked or did you get that from AT&T
if thats not
you have to either unlock the phone or contact AT&T to get permission to use the phone.

I am thinking of getting the Sony Ericsson W580i Walkman. I love everything about it, it’s just that I am a big iTunes user and I do not want to start buying new songs just for the phone. So can I use iTunes to download the music onto the phone?

You cant, but you can use a MicroSD card, in your MicroSD slot of comp, and upload any type of music. Or, you can use an online converter to change your songs to MP3 format, which would make it compatible with just about anything.

I think you can use iTunes songs, but you can’t load them into the phone; the w580i supports all MP3, AAC, AAC+, e-AAC+, M4A, MIDI, and MP4 formats. Most iTunes music should be under these (except for AIFF). And in order for you to be able to use them on the phone, they can’t be DRM protected.

Contrary to the previous answer, the w580i uses the Memory Stick Micro M2, not the MicroSD. You just plug the phone into the computer with the provided USB cable, access the drive much like a removable flash driver, and drag-drop songs into the appropriate folder.
