If I message people via BlackBerry Messenger, will they know my cell phone number?

I recently bought a BlackBerry 8300 cell phone. It is my personal cell phone but I also use it for work purposes. I want to know, if I use BlackBerry Messenger to message my coworkers, will it show them my cell phone number? I’m wondering this because some of them I only want to talk to about work related issues and do not want them knowing my actual cell phone number. I’ve tried searching but have had no luck.

The page this ad links to is cute.

"Make sure your teen knows that everything ‘on the web’ isn't necessarily legal."

"For example, if you catch your teen Instant Messaging (IM'ing) someone they don't personally know, take computer, Blackberry, or cell phone privileges away for an extended period of time."

"Use text messaging to check in with your teen after school. If your teen has a camera phone, have him/her send a picture of where he/she is and who he/she is with. If he/she is supposed to be at a school football game, tell your teen to take a picture of him/herself with friends in the stands."

I want to buy a device (any cell phone or blackberry) based on capabilities and price.
Needs to be able to sync withPC, add contacts, add activities on the glide (not only by PC), phone calls, activities reminders, etc (to be able to be used in a production floor enviroment in general).
I don’t care on music reproduction, camera capacity, etc.
Of course the price is importan (I don’t want to buy a device to expensive and with more capabilities than I may need.
Thanks for your help

there are a few cell phones now that have the sync capabilities with your computer, alot of places (like sprint) have refubished sales on their palm piolt cell phones and you can get them pretty cheap that way, at least that is where i got my boyfriends palm piolt cell phone for the same reason you are looking for one. plus if you are looking for cheap i wouldnt recommend the blackberry they can get pretty pricey.

Any a normal cellphone or a PDA can do what you need to do described above. A PDA, but, will be able to do persons things more easily than a phone will. Since you seem to need the “basics” of a PDA, then pretty much any of them will do you excellent. I own a T-Mobile Dash and I use it primarily for work. I can get my work and personal email on this business as well as surf the net, get driving directions etc. It’s reasonably useful and has pretty much anything i need. You didn’t specify anything about contracts so I’m not sure if you don’t mind signing up for one or not but I bought mine from wireflycom.com. It was $ 50 bucks but it came with a $ 50 mail in rebate. Not sure if they still have that special or not. Usually though, they have really cheap phones, so long as you sign up for a contract. Might wanna check there to see if they have anything you’d like. I’d also recommend the new Motorola Q as well since it’s a nice small package deal too.
