does mms use the interent on sony cell phones?

do i need to use the internet for my multimedia messaging?
i have boundless and a sony ericsson cell my friends tell me that
i dont use the interent for it but then it shows the internet sign wenever i try dowloading it!!!!!!! helpppp plzzzzzzz!!!!!!

I have cingular service. I can see the cell phone listed under my modems on my mainframe computer. I know there is a way to use the cell phone as a modem using any cell phone minutes or configuring it to use the boundless media net. I do not want to use my cell phone minutes. I want to configure the cell phone to use the boundless media net. Thank you for any help!!!

u have to have internet on your phone first, then conect the phone through bluetooth and set the phone as a modem. it should connect u w/o using your min. works with my t-mobile phone
