Any tips for Samsung Refrigerator Problems? 2 1/2 years ago we bought a Samsung Mod RS2545SH at Costco.?

We have had numerous problems with the fridge. The computer sometimes locks up and the unit goes into “demo” mode, meaning it stops cooling both the fridge and freezer. We combed Samsung’s website and found a way to reset this, so we can get it cooling again, but have lost a honest quantity of food to thawing during these episodes.
The largest conundrum we have now is with the shelves. They are very fragile and we had cracking in the shelves nearly since the unit was new. We have 4 kids and sometimes they aren’t careful when putting things away, but even so the shelves should be sturdier.
Anyone else had these problems? We would like this fridge to last us being but since I didn’t buy the one my wife wanted I am in distress now and would despise to have to admit I was incorrect and should have spent the extra $ 800 to buy the one she wanted.

Try some sticky backed plastic on the top of each shelf. You can get the type that looks like frosted glass and it will stop the shock of things being place in carelessly. It comes in a roll and is around 14″ I reckon.

Also, I would make sure that the temperature of the fridge is not too low and this will make shelves more brittle.

Don’t suppose you can find some second hand house which has any intact ones?

Shelves can be bought from your samsung repair dealer. Replace your main board and plug into surge protector .

I have samsung refrigerator model SR-37EMA, The conundrum that no cooling in main cabinet but freezer is working O.K.

I had a similar conundrum with my Norge. There was a small fan that blew air from the freezer to the refrigerator. The bearings failed, the fan quit, no cold air. I had to have a service man fix it.

If the fan is not working and it is still cold above ( or in freezer) It ; more than liable , is a thaw out component gone out. The system consists of a thaw out timer, limit, and heater. if any malfunction ,frost builds up in freezer section blocking air flow from being blown to refrigerator section. At some point the frost/ice stops the fan blade from turning. Some-times if not caught in time the fan motor can fry!. Look from inside refrigerator up into freezer section from small passage vents, frost?…. Empty refrigerator into an ice chest and start defrosting. call an appliance man? woman and set up a call. Tell them it is defrosting ( so they know they won’t have to) Best of luck.. Most times this is a thaw out timer which is under 65.00 us……

If your fan works you have too much ‘stuff’ in your freezer and your vents are plugged.
Make sure the vents are open.
