Do Toshiba laptops tend to have hard drive problems?

My Toshiba Satellite isn’t even 5 months old yet, and the place I got it from said the hard drive was the problem. Luckly, it should still be under warranty. But the guy seemed surprised that a Toshiba laptop had a hard drive problem so soon. My one friend also has a Toshiba Satellite and he told me he needs a new laptop, too. Are Toshiba laptops known to have these kinds of problems? Or is it just bad luck?
This is my second Toshiba Satellite by the way. The first one lasted about 2 years and then the motherboard died.

No they all use a variety of HDD’s and use several brands

I have a toshiba laptop and need to find the base for as the old one broke. Does anyone know a link where I can find the touch pad and case as well as the lcd cover. I guess I need everything on the outside.

If it’s more than 3-4 years old, you are unlikely to find new parts. Better to search the likes of e-bay for laptops to use for parts.
