Which one is better between LG Monitors and Samsung monitors?

Overall which one do you guys prefer and why?

Either one is excellent. I reckon Frys had some reasonable LG 1080p monitors up to 24″. But I had been by an grown-up 27″ Apex 1280×720 LCD HDTV for a monitor and thought it might be nice to have something a small larger with more simple to read shape for my ancient eyes. So I got an open box LG 32LH40 1080p HDTV at Best Buy. It has 4 HDMI ports, but I am only by 2 so far for DVI to HDMI from my desktop and a BluRay player with streaming Netflix HD. It works as well with VGA from my laptop.

One conundrum with my ancient 27″ HDTV is that it had no energy saving features, so if my computer went to sleep it would stay on with a blue screen. But the LG powers off if it gets no video signal for awhile (after 10 minutes I reckon).

So both monitors have HDMI ins and optical outs, but I’m not sure if they are able to pass HDMI signal to seperate speakers through their optical outs.

Since they have built-in TV tuners, I’m worried that they only output the TV signal through optical, and not the signal of other sources.

The Samsung has dual HDMI inputs, DVI and VGA inputs and I couldn’t find the LG anywhere…
