sony laptops ....................?
what is the best series of sony laptops ..?
what is your opinion about sony vaio fw
Answer by rugbyfree
sony is crap…go for an HP or dell
Answer by bob taskbar
sony is not crap.
hp, dell, acer, asus and toshiba are crap. because they are cheap!
best sony vaio. depends on what you are using it for.
i like a series sr or sz, bec it has a widescreen, and it is small enough to fit into my backpack. so nobody knows that i am carrying a pc. it is stylish enough, unlike the bulky hp or dell.
i like series ux, because i think it is good with windows 7, bec of its touchscreen.
get series fw if you want to use your pc to view movies.
whatever you will get, get a vaio with at least 2gb of ram. 4gb if you have the budget. and insist on getting the recovery discs (hardcopy) even if the sales rep says that is inside the harddrive. it is always a good idea to get a hardcopy, bec you dont know what might happen in the future.
i think aside from being stylish and powerful, what i like in a sony vaio is that sony has taken effort in integrating the windows os and its other apps in 1 disc. so you dont have to do 2 processes (windows, then its other apps), which is common in cheap laptops like hp and dell. with a sony vaio, when you do a recovery (reformat/ reinstall windows), you do everything in just 1 process. it is easy and takes less time.
what if you dont like to use the bundled softwares? what do you do if you dont like to pay sony to take out their bundled softwares? that is easy. download and install revo uninstaller (free app, read instructions before using). use it to uninstall the apps that you dont need. this will clean the registry and other folders the software leaves behind. it will clean you vaio better.

203/365 – Sony Vaio Laptops SUCK! (bad design)
A client’s laptop had a motherboard go bad on it, so I did what I normally do and try to back up any data on the hard drive before it gets sent out for warranty repairs. So when I went to get at the hard drive on this particular Sony Vaio laptop, I found that it required the removal of a dozen screws and sweat-inducing care to not break any of the clips as you disassemble the keyboard (?!?!) so you can move it away and get to the hard drive.
The empty area to the bottom left is the spot where the hard drive goes.
Most laptops take 2-4 screws to access the hard drive and usually from the bottom and/or side – and take less than 2 minutes to remove. This one took me about an hour the first time – most of which was spent trying to get tiny and thin clips to let go without snapping any off. It took me 20 minutes the second time around. No clips were broken, either!
Trust me, stay away from buying these. They’re not worth the extra money and will end up costing you even more to get repaired when (not if) something eventually fails.
I really want an Apple laptop because I want the built in camera and photobooth because i love taking pictures and making videos. I do not want to pay $ 1000 thoguh. Sony laptops are a little cheaper and I was wondering If anyone knows if they are just as good. . .thanks!
