The phone looks like this but it doesn’t have the chrome trim on the sides. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34UPofN7XTU

I got a Chinese phone as a gift from a friend… its name is (apparently) Nokia N99. its is a PDA phone only that it does not run Windows Mobile(there is some sort of a Chinese Software installed)… I want to know if it is possible to reboot the mobile and install Windows Mobile (any version) on it.. and if it is possible then how?

Answer by Mike F
Short answer – No.

A specific version of Windows Mobile would need to be written/compiled to handle the specific hardware complement of the phone in question.

no the phone would not be compatable.

Nokia uses the Symbian operating system for the bulk (if not all) of their phones. It is a great OS and will offer you pretty well he same experience that you would find on a Windows Mobile device.

I would check with your carrier or the Nokia website to see if you can download an English language pack for your phone.

There is, unfortunately, no way that you can force Windows Mobile on to your N99. They are simply incompatible.

Sorry!
