Whirlpool Refrigerator Value?

Whirlpool Refrigerator Value?

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator model GD25DIXHW00 that I would like to sell. One problem, I have no idea what the value would be. It is in great shape and I have never had any problems with it. Could someone please give me info on value or send me in a direction where I can find the information? Thanks

I donate a lot of stuff to charities. I received a printout from the Salvation Army, I think, that gave the IRS guidelines as to what items are worth for tax purposes.

Large appliances, in good working order that look good can be sold for 1/4 of what you paid for them, providing they are clean and don’t have any strange smells.

There are places that sell used appliances. It might be worth your time to take a trip to one of your local ones and see what they’re charging. Keep in mind that many of these places also offer a warranty, so their prices will be higher.

There are 3 legs coming out of the compressor , how do you test the electrical motor that drives the compressor and how do you tell that the compressor is bad?

Answer by William B
use the OHM,s setting 2K a mid range or more reading is good
unless you have the spec ts on the motor its hard to tell,
if it pegs out bad motor, test one probe on ground one leg test at a time,
3 legs, 2 are hot 1 is ground,
then there is a pressure test, can,t rember all of it,

If the compressor is running you check the current (amperage) reading on the common terminal and compare it with the nameplate rating on the inside of the fridge. Without power there are 2 tests you can do. With the wiring disconnected, measure the resistance to ground from each terminal on the compressor. Ideally you should be using a meter that can measure up to 30 or 40 Megohms. The compressor should have more than 10 megohm resistance to ground on all three terminals, if not, it is shot. Secondly you measure terminal to terminal resistance. The compressor terminal cover or the soft gasket underneath should be marked with a C, S and R (common start and run). The resistance between common and start should be about 5 times higher than from common to run, and both readings should be less than 25 ohms. The sum of the two readings should equal the resistance between the start and run terminals. That’s it that’s all! Be careful and good luck!
