Nokia N97 Mini Review

Nokia N97 Mini Pictures. From the Review on : zomgitscj.com/
Basically I am looking for a touchscreen, unlocked phone…but i’m having distress deciding between these two.
The n900 is really bulky compared to the mini, that seems to be the only conundrum, and the cramped keyboard.
and the new n97 mini is incredible looking overall, but it’s not as up to date as the n900.
I was also wondering if the n900/n97 mini were capable of VIDEO CONFERENCING. This is the only part of the phones i can’t get enough info on.
i read that they can record chat someplace? but otherwise nothing on most reviews and sites.
The nokia site says it has a VGA web camera, so i’m guessing you can. I’d like to know a small more about it and if it’s possible to record chat with a friend on a mac or even another n900. Theres nearly no info anywhere on this
So umm, yea, just looking for your opinions, pros and cons that u notice on these two phones to maybe help me choose which to get. Thanks

i would choose the Nokia n900. My opinion, i feel the n97-mini is just the n97 repackaged because the n97 wasn’t really sucessfull.
On the additional hand, the n900 is a new thought (mobile computer vs n97-multimedia device). From the trailers and interviews, the OS running on the n900 Maemo (Linux) seems very gifted as compared to the N97′s Symbian.
Well, about record conferencing, even though its not mentioned, i strongly feel that the n900 have a stronger, higher and better capability than then n97-mini due to its OS, RAM, multi tasking etc. in this area.
Lastly, i feel that what is lacking in the n900 which some public might be looking out for is the N-Gage platform (gaming).
Its really a new thought which i feel worth the money paying for, rather than an ancient thought thats probably refurbished.

Of course the n900 is better. It uses an ARM Cortex A8 processor which is three times nearer the the n97′s processor. The n900 also supports more apps running on Linux based Maemo 5 and you can surf the web the way you do in your desktop computer with mozilla in it. The down side is it’s really bulky and 181 grams is really freakishly heavy for a phone!! The battery is weak too and drains nearer so you’ll have to charge it a LOT of times. The n900 has excellent functionality, but not so clever. The camera isn’t so excellent too with a tiny 5MP camera. If you can live with that, then the n900 is excellent for you.
The n97 mini is excellent but it’s reasonably slow. And the n97 has a faulty design in it. The camera protector that was suppose to protect the camera, really scratches the camera. There have been a klot of complaints about this. And the camera is only 5MP too which isn’t so excellent. Don’t know if the mini has it though.
Also, I would highly suggest the Sony Ericsson Satio having the same processor with n900 which is really quick with 12MP camera and incredible user interface. It also has a lot of media capabilities. It supports nHD gaming too!! Or the XPERIA X2 coming this October. It has a shiny design and awesome UI running on the latest WinMo 6.5 professional.
You should beyond doubt check this phones out too.. Don’t choose so quickly or maybe you’ll regret it.
I really hope I helped!
