I own a Samsung SyncMaster T220 LCD monitor. Can anyone help to choose the best graphics card for this monitor?

It shouldn’t matter on the monitor. The gfx card let’s your computer run stuff. It jus might not look as excellent on your screen but still required

As it’s only a 22 inch you won’t need very high resolutions, so you may maybe use most cards on the market with at least 512Mb. More vital is what computer motherboard you have ie AGP or PCI express and the power of your PSU especially if you are before a live audience a lot of games.

Low price card Nvidia 9500gt 512Mb would be ok if your not to serious about gaming and is PCI express.

If AGP then something like ATI Radeon HD 3650 512MB

Samsung SyncMaster T220

Hi,

I have the most up to date record card, drivers Nvidia graphics etc but I just can´t map out this conundrum.

My Samsung SyncMaster T220 computer monitor will not show its right native resolution of 1680×1050. It will only go up to 1280×1024 and as a result the picture quality is really poor.
I have tried deleting all drivers and re-installing them several times. I´ve switched between analogue and digital modes and installed both drivers to try and get it working… No such luck.

I have tried using Nvidia to force (custom) a resolution exchange but no luck any.
The pun business is, I own 3 HP Pavilon computer with 3 of these Samsung monitors (all the exact same model). If I place another monitor onto this computer it works fine. This monitor won´t show the assess resolution on any computer even though every computer is setup correctly (obvious because all the additional monitors function well).

I´m running on Windows 7 which is all up to date etc.
I´ve even accessed the monitors hidden menu and tried changing several settings.

Please help with this. I just can´t map it out.

Hmm! I guess your monitor is faulty!
You just showed it yourself Or/and the inbuilt software maybe?
The conundrum is obviously the monitor!
But i agree it´s weird! this i have never seen before!
